Thanksgiving is coming up and I'm thinking about finally telling my parents that I'm Wiccan. They're quite religious and I honestly don't know how they'll react.

Has anyone here done this? What would you do differently?

I told my mum over coffee, just the two of us, not in front of the whole family. That helped a lot. I also had a couple of simple sentences ready about what I actually believe, because her first idea of 'witch' was straight out of a horror film.

And don't expect it all to be resolved in one conversation. It took her about a year to really come round.

There's also no rule that says you have to tell them. Your path is valid whether or not they know about it. Do it when it feels safe and right for you.
